Shopify orders and fulfillment

Eligible orders created in Shopify are imported into Sqquid. Sqquid can then route their items to locations and coordinate fulfillment with the rest of your operation.

By default, the Connection imports eligible Shopify orders. You can narrow the imported orders with exact Shopify tags:

  • Order tag allowlist. Sqquid imports only orders with at least one listed tag.
  • Order tag ignore list. Sqquid skips orders with any listed tag.

Leave the allowlist empty to avoid requiring a tag. If an order matches both lists, the ignore list wins and Sqquid skips it. Tags must match exactly, including capitalization.

Order bot protection can skip orders identified as bot-generated.

Location mappings connect Sqquid’s routing decisions to Shopify locations. Before enabling location-aware routing, make sure the same physical store or warehouse is mapped consistently.

Use Connection-assigned location in Settings > Order Routing to keep the Locations Shopify has assigned to an imported order’s fulfillment work.

Before using it:

  • Enable Inventory by location in the Shopify Connection’s Location settings.
  • Map the Shopify fulfillment Locations to the corresponding Sqquid Locations.
  • Make sure the Connection has permission to read merchant-managed fulfillment orders. Use Reconnect in the Connection settings if its authorization needs updating.

Place the rule before other Location rules if Shopify’s decision should take priority. Add conditions to keep it only for selected orders. For example, combine your Shopify Connection with a Source value shown in Preview routing for orders placed through a marketplace app. Other orders can continue to your usual stock-based rules.

The rule keeps Shopify’s mapped assignments without checking Sqquid stock, inventory buffers, or open-order limits. It preserves pickup handling and recognizes Locations configured for dropshipping on the Connection. Sqquid’s separate dropship and pickup rules still run first.

Closed Shopify fulfillment orders and unmapped Locations do not supply assignments to this rule. Items without a usable assignment, including any unassigned part of a line, continue to later rules or the out-of-stock fallback. Check the preview before saving, including an order that does not match your conditions.

When Sqquid records a shipment for an imported Shopify order, it sends the supported fulfillment details back to Shopify. This normally includes the shipped items and available tracking information.

See Shipments and notifications to find the shipment, reprint documents, and check Shopify customer notifications.

If Shopify does not show the update, check the order and shipment synchronization history in Sqquid before creating the fulfillment manually in Shopify.

Shopify return import is optional. When enabled, choose where returned inventory should go:

  • Return it to the location that fulfilled the order.
  • Send it to a specific Sqquid return location.

A specific return location is required when Return to fulfillment store is off.

See Review previous returns to check the imported record in Sqquid before creating another return.

See Shopify settings for the controls described on this page.
