Set up fulfillment and shipping

Connect EasyPost if your team will buy shipping labels from Sqquid’s Fulfillment area. This step is optional. Orders can still enter Sqquid without an EasyPost Connection.

Create an EasyPost account and have its production API key ready. A test API key is required to request test rates and simulate label purchases. You can omit it if you will use only live mode.

Check that every shipping Location has a complete, accurate address. Sqquid uses the origin and delivery addresses to request rates and create labels.

  1. In the Setup Guide, expand Connect a shipping integration and select Browse connections.
  2. Find EasyPost in the Shipping section and select Connect.
  3. Enter a recognizable Connection name and the production API key.
  4. Add the test API key if you plan to test label purchasing.
  5. Create the Connection and open its Setup page.
  6. Add package presets for the boxes or envelopes your team uses most often.
  7. Enable the Connection.

New EasyPost Connections start in test mode, even if no test key was supplied. Add a test key before testing; the production key is not used in test mode. Test labels are simulations. When you are ready to purchase real labels, open the EasyPost Connection and select Switch to live mode.

Review the remaining EasyPost settings before your first live shipment. They control package defaults, address validation, rate selection, cost limits, and other label behavior.

In Settings > Fulfillment, set the fulfillment start date and customize your packing slips before staff begin shipping.

The Setup Guide goal completes when an enabled shipping Connection exists. Test mode does not prevent the goal from completing, so check the mode separately before fulfilling live orders.

Next, decide whether to set up Dynamic Buffers.
