Run your first imports

The first imports create Sqquid’s working copy of your products and location-level inventory. Check this copy before you rely on it for online availability, routing, or fulfillment.

The Setup Guide calls this goal Import your inventory and catalog. It is Recommended and can be skipped, but completing it now catches source settings and product-matching problems early.

RunIt POS and Lightspeed Retail (X-Series) provide manual import buttons in the Setup Guide:

  1. Confirm that the source Connection is enabled.
  2. Expand Import your inventory and catalog.
  3. Select Import inventory.
  4. After that import starts, select Import products.
  5. Open Syncs and wait for both imports to complete.

Always start inventory first. Sqquid needs the location-level quantities while it builds the product set.

After the first full imports, supported product and inventory updates continue automatically while the source Connection is enabled.

Shopify product and inventory imports start automatically while the Shopify Channels Hub Connection is enabled. The Setup Guide does not show manual import buttons for this source.

  1. Open Products and wait for products from the source to appear.
  2. Check several parent products and variants.
  3. Confirm their SKUs, names, prices, and inventory by Location.
  4. Open Syncs if you need to review recent processing or an error.
  5. Return to the Setup Guide and select Mark as complete if the goal has not completed automatically.

Use a small but varied sample. Include a product with several variants, a sale price if you use one, and inventory at more than one Location.

Check that:

  • Each sellable variant has the expected SKU or barcode.
  • Product names, categories, prices, and images follow the source settings.
  • Inventory appears at the correct Locations.
  • Duplicate or reused SKUs have not caused incorrect matches.
  • Recent product and inventory work has not failed in Syncs.

The guide can complete this goal after it finds successful product and inventory imports. It only displays recent sync evidence, so use Mark as complete after you have verified an older or automatic import yourself.

Next, decide whether to set up order routing.
