Common MCP workflows

Use these workflows to give clear instructions to an AI assistant. Each workflow starts with read tools.

Ask:

Identify my Sqquid Account. Check its plan, limits, and setup. Explain the next required action. Do not make changes.

Recommended sequence:

account_whoami
→ account_status
→ account_limits
→ setup_status

Use account_setup only when the Account does not have an active plan. The tool shows the available plans before it opens Stripe Checkout.

Ask:

Show the Connections that I can add. Help me add [integration]. Check all requirements before you enable it.

Recommended sequence:

connections_catalog
→ connections_create or connections_connect
→ connections_map_locations, when required
→ connections_settings
→ connections_readiness
→ connections_enable
→ connections_get

connections_create is for credential-based integrations. connections_connect is for browser-based integrations. Always use the method that connections_catalog returns.

The assistant must show each approval request to you. Do not approve a change that you do not understand.

Ask:

Check my Connections. Explain failed readiness checks and the most recent synchronization error. Do not change settings.

Recommended sequence:

connections_list
→ connections_get
→ connections_readiness
→ connections_settings, when settings are relevant

connections_get returns the most recent synchronization job. The job status can be running, completed, or failed.

Use these tools for a POS source Connection:

POS source → connections_import_inventory → Sqquid
POS source → connections_import_products → Sqquid

Both tools queue background work. A queued result does not mean that the import is complete.

Ask the assistant to call connections_get. The assistant must check that last_sync matches the requested job type and start time, then inspect its status. An older completed run does not confirm the new import.

Ask:

Find products with synchronization errors. Explain each error. Ask before you retry an export.

Recommended sequence:

products_errors
→ products_get
→ correct the cause
→ products_export
→ products_get

products_export sends a product from Sqquid to the Connection that owns that product record. It does not send the product to every sales Connection.

Ask:

List my Sqquid locations. Show each location ID and store ID. Do not change them.

Use locations_create or locations_update only after you verify the values.

Use locations_delete with care. The tool requires approval. The tool blocks deletion when routing or a Connection map still uses the location.

For Lightspeed X and Shopify source Connections, use connections_map_locations to import or map provider locations.

Ask:

Explain my current order routing. Test the proposed change on recent orders. Do not save the change until I approve it.

Recommended sequence:

routing_definitions
→ routing_get
→ routing_simulate on two or three orders
→ show the results to the user
→ routing_save

routing_simulate does not change an order. routing_save replaces the complete routing configuration. Rules that are missing from the submitted configuration are removed.
