Troubleshoot Shopify

Start on the Shopify Connection’s Setup page. It shows failed requirements, warnings, and the most relevant settings page for each item.

Complete every failed item in Setup. Warnings explain optional or recommended configuration, while failed items block enabling the Connection.

Common blockers include missing Shopify authorization or inventory-by-location being enabled without a valid location map.

Shopify authorization is missing or expired

Section titled “Shopify authorization is missing or expired”
  1. Open the Shopify Connection.
  2. Select General.
  3. Select Reconnect.
  4. Sign in to the correct Shopify store and approve access.
  5. Return to Setup and confirm that authorization passes.

If Shopify does not allow the installation, confirm that your Shopify user can manage apps.

Check the following:

  • The Shopify Connection is enabled.
  • The product is enrolled for Shopify synchronization.
  • Sync new products automatically is enabled if you expected automatic enrollment.
  • The new-product mode is Full sync, not Inventory sync only, when Shopify does not already have the product.
  • The product has a usable SKU, or ALU/UPC fallback is enabled and correctly populated.
  • The product does not show a synchronization error in Sqquid.
  • Confirm which system is the inventory source for the Account.
  • Check that the expected Shopify and Sqquid locations are mapped.
  • Make sure each Shopify location appears only once in the map.
  • Confirm that inventory by location is enabled only when a valid map exists.
  • Review Dynamic Buffers and routing rules if the online available quantity differs from physical on-hand inventory.
  • Check recent synchronization errors before making a manual correction in both systems.

First, search Orders with Status set to All so queued or skipped orders are included.

  • Check the order tag allowlist. An allowlist causes untagged orders to be skipped.
  • Check the order tag ignore list for a matching tag.
  • Review bot protection if the order was classified as automated.
  • Confirm that the Connection was enabled when the order became eligible.
  • Look for an order synchronization error in Sqquid.

Fulfillment or tracking did not reach Shopify

Section titled “Fulfillment or tracking did not reach Shopify”
  • Confirm that Sqquid recorded a shipment for the correct order items.
  • Check that the Shopify Connection remains authorized and enabled.
  • Review the shipment synchronization history for an error.
  • Avoid creating a second Shopify fulfillment until you know whether the original update is still being retried.
  • Confirm that Import returns is enabled.
  • If Return to fulfillment store is off, select a valid return location.
  • Confirm that the original Shopify order was imported into Sqquid.
  • Review the return synchronization history for an error.

After correcting a product or inventory error, resync the product and check the result. For an order that is still missing, follow Order import checks. For returns recorded in Sqquid but missing from another system, follow Return destination checks.

If the problem continues, email help@sqquid.com. Include the Sqquid Account, Connection name, affected order or SKU, approximate time of the problem, and the error message shown in Sqquid.
